Having a smart arsenal of great speed dating questions is essential to mastering the art of speed dating. And yes, speed dating is an art form. You ever get tired of the time and energy it takes to find a good date? First dates require an enormous up front investment of time, energy, and money. The traditional dating process usually exhausts most people.
With the first primary debates set to kick off Wednesday in Miami, the Democratic candidates have been preparing to make their case to the American people for why they -- and not one of the other 19 debating over two nights -- should be the person to take on President Donald Trump in the election. The candidates, however, won't have much time on stage to pitch their campaign. According to NBC, the network hosting the first debates along with MSNBC and Telemundo, each two-hour televised night will be separated into five segments with four commercial breaks. Candidates will only have one minute to respond to questions and just 30 seconds to respond to follow-ups. The candidates also will have an opportunity to give closing remarks, but there will be no opening statements. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N. Ohio Rep.

Discussions are the cornerstone of my teaching style. We end up with the same speakers sharing their strongly held opinions while the rest of the class sits with glazed eyes. One set of students stays sitting in chairs while the other group rotates around. When the buzzer rings, they move on.
Speed dating is a formalized matchmaking process which has the purpose of encouraging eligible singles to meet large numbers of new potential partners in a very short period of time. Usually advance registration is required for speed dating events. Men and women are rotated to meet each other over a series of short "dates" usually lasting from three to eight minutes depending on the organization running the event. At the end of each interval, the organizer rings a bell, clinks a glass, or blows a whistle to signal the participants to move on to the next date. At the end of the event participants submit to the organizers a list of who they would like to provide their contact information to.
